#FashionFriday Nick's Picks: Welkin NYC's Consciously Cool Collection

Happy Friday! #FashionFriday and Nick's Picks are new Comm Moms additions. Obviously, these are my picks for PRince Nick, though he does like to choose what he wears, and sometimes gives me serious fever when getting dressed. What can I say? He gets his love of clothes from his mama. Anyway, Nick's Picks will showcase (emerging) brands, pieces I love and his new wardrobe additions. First up, we have Welkin NYC. I've been obsessed with this brand since happening upon them last year via Instagram. Founders, Belle Savransky and LaTonya Staubs -  friends, mothers and New Yorkers - wanted unique pieces for their own children, so they created this edgy, sustainable clothing line that reflects city culture. Welkin NYC is produced ethically and uses eco-blends, organic cotton, water-based ink and vegan leather.

Those who know me, know I live for a great harem pant, and their "Subway Riding Pants" are a MUST HAVE for PRince Nick. Actually, that entire fit (pictured below right) is pretty "dope". I love that they styled that look on a little girl, too (or is that a really pretty boy? I can't tell).

Now, I know some of you (Comm) moms are thinking, "$65 for pants that won't fit in 6-months?!" Believe me, I get it. With JB (my oldest), he HAD to have all name brand, all the time - and he did. With Nicholas, I know better; however, I'm all about worthy splurges, and those pants are a necessity.

Created by two fab moms, Welkin NYC's consciously cool collection pays homage to the city that they love and call home (their "All That" tee salutes Brooklyn-bred, A Tribe Called Quest) and boasts statement making staples. What's not to love?
