Hey all! The passing of Memorial Day marks the official beginning of summer. Summertime for me is all about summer/basketball camp PRep, weekend play dates, mommy & me adventures and LOTS of birthday parties. I lost count, but last summer, I believe we celebrated no less than 12 birthdays. Over the long weekend we attended my besties' daughters' third birthday party.
Attendees were required to take pictures in front of a pink, jeweled backdrop. Though it seriously clashed with Prince Nick's minty fit, we obliged, and tried out a new pose. Below is Nick's go-to face and stance. I know, I should've straightened him out before the picture; it was a struggle getting him to stop running around to take the picture!

Cute, but we're working on a variety of facial expressions and poses. That's in addition to getting him some behavior. I showed him what I wanted him to do, and he copied, (barely) managing not to topple over. Huge difference, right?
I captured a few shots, then Nick noticed party guests in the pool was instantly over the shoot. I confess, prior to this weekend Nick hadn't been in an actual pool. Sprinklers and kiddie pools, yes, but not a swimming pool. I don't swim or care for the beach, so I've avoided those activities. Nick was all too ready to wear his swim gear.
Last week, Target had a sale on all children's swim, I made sure to snap up some Ninja Turtle gear for the occasion. The water was too deep for the smaller children, but they had a blast spraying each other, and splashing their feet in the shallow end of the pool.
Nick and the birthday girl, Kennedy.
After the pool we relocated to the park for more playtime, piñata and cake.
Nick in motion. He's really fast. We're putting him in track soon.

Resting and thinking of a master plan ;-).

The birthday party served as the perfect summer segue. I'm ready for all of the random fun to come! And yes, the pool and beach are on the agenda. Can't deprive the baby anymore.
